Ok, just went to the Indonesian embassy only to find out that they're closed this week because the ex-prime minster’s death. My stars are definitely out of alignment with the visa thing! Damn! Guess I either skip the extra month in Indonesia & buy my ticket now...when I can get a good price...or take care of the visa in Bangkok which is an infinitely more expensive city to be in while my application is approved or denied...not to mention gambling on the ticket price. So here's my post-Myanmar plan.... get to Bangkok for the Chinese New Year next Thursday & go to the embassy. Then on south thru Thailand, including the dangerous bit into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (It's cheaper to fly to Indonesia from there.) I want to get to Bali, Indonesia by 3/6 for my favorite Hindu festival... I even celebrated it last year in LA! That means just a week or 2 in Malaysia... but I can come back... besides, right now I'm not really sure what, besides beaches, there is to see in Malaysia... email me if you know of anything :)
