Asia Can Challenge Your Morals E-mail
From Ko Chang, Thailand
Sunday, February 03, 2008

When a store clerk hands me too much change, I give it back. In general, I (usually) do the right thing. Probably more so than most. I've been blessed with good luck my whole life & attribute it to the good karma I've earned.

But Asia can challenge your morals.

You get ripped off every day. To the point where it becomes all too easy to think when you get by without paying, that it's just karma coming full circle.

This morning I returned the motorbike I broke & got away without paying for the damage. (The guy wanted to stare at my tits rather than the bike.) I then got a "taxi" back to my hotel & got off with a group of people & wasn't asked to pay for that either. And to top off my change in fortune from the other day, this lovely man I met in Cambodia showed up this afternoon!
