After a few long, hard travel days... 20 hrs total on buses.. the last 4 on a dusty, dirty unpaved road... then a short boat ride (where the water spray made these lovely dirt streeks down my face from the dusty bus ride!)... finally made it to my island paradise! Think this is going to be the perfect place for the holidays... because... it's a Muslim island! Absolutely hate over-the-top American Xmases... low key though I enjoy. Also the island has white sand beaches on one side & a very traditional village with narrow winding streets on the other. The city's so charming it's a 'UNESCO World Heritage Site'. Absolutely perfect! Plus, got a great room with a canopied bed where if I open the large shuttered windows the ocean is right below! Again... perfect!
