Currently in Bodhgaya in the state of Bihar. (That's somewhere in the middle of the north.) This is supposedly the place where the Buddha gained enlightenment. It's a pretty funky place... all Buddhist countries have built their own temples here. Visited the Tibetan, Korean, Cambodian, Mongolia, Thai, Japanese & Bhutanese temples... & that's only half of them! And all the signs in this city are written in about a dozen different languages. And these signs... "This is the exact place the Buddha sat week 1 after he gained enlightenment & he meditated on XYZ while sitting here." Very strange! So I sat under that tree today... gave it a good hour... but, in the end, no enlightenment for me~
